MAKEUP: PEACHY PINK LIPPY

7 May 2015

I was skeptical about Barry M. because of their INCREDIBLY reasonable (aka low) prices. I usually go for mid level brands like Sleek. They're not the cheapest, but not the most pricey. Sometimes you get what you pay for, right?

Danielle Vanier has posted several photos on Instagram of Barry M. nail varnish, and they look so beautiful! They didn't look like the nail varnish you'd find at Poundland, even they only cost £2-4. Naturally, I had to give this brand a try, and I was pleasantly surprised with the results.

I've been hunting for a good neutral peach lippy for summer, and I was delighted to find Barry M. No 147 - Peachy Pink. I love a dark, vampy lip as much as the next girl, but sometimes a change is nice, eh? The colour payoff with this lippy was amazing! It went on smoothly, and didn't cake up throughout the day. Reapplication (after eating and drinking) was no biggie, quick and easy. My only recommendation: do a lip scrub before using this product. I use a simple DIY lip scrub that's just a wee bit of coconut oil and a pinch of sugar to get the dead skin off. That leaves a smooth, moisturised canvas for your lipstick. Skipping this step before using this lip colour will lead to some flakes, and colour gathering in your lip creases.

I styled this lippy with nearly nude eyeshadow, my standard brows, and light (well, lighter than normal) mascara for a quick, casual look.

The verdict: 9/10. A fab product for a fantastic price. Great go to brand if you're looking to experiment with new looks. They have an AMAZE lavender lip colour with matching nail varnish that I'm DYING to try!
