Have you heard of Filament Coffee yet? They've just opened up shop in the south side of Edinburgh and I just adore them! After a short term lease on Victoria Street last summer I'm super excited that they've back in action!
With bean suppliers like Has Bean and Square Mile, it's no wonder they deliver a superb cup of coffee. On our wee coffee date, Scott and I also ordered a peanut butter blondie and a caramel pecan brownie from SukiBakes. They were both fantastic, but I preferred the caramel pecan brownie. Pecans always remind me of home, and the sweet/salty combo was just perfection!
The shop is a nice, bright, open space. There's not a lot of decor, but I really enjoyed the minimal look. Probably my favourite thing about the shop is how invested and passionate the staff clearly are. They are more than happy to have a chat with you about their current roasts, suppliers, or whatever you like!
As you can see, their menu is pretty frill free. If you're after a skinny-vanilla-caramel-whipped-cream-frozen-sugar-rush coffee, you'll probably be happier going elsewhere. But if you prefer back to basics, simple, delicious coffee, Filament is just right for you.
Be sure to visit their website, and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!
Filament is located at 38 Clerk Street, and is open from 8:00 am - 7:00 pm. Go have a wee visit and let me know what you thought in the comments below!
