LET'S GET PERSONAL: OUR FIRST FLAT

14 Jul 2015

I'm so excited to share this post with you guys! I forgot how much I LOVE decorating, because I never really settled into my last flat much. It's been so refreshing getting to settle and make this flat feel like a home, so I hope you like it!

Our bedroom was incredibly bare until my beautiful friend Beth came to stay and made this GORGEOUS tassle garland! Maybe I'm getting old, but I was SO excited to have bedroom furniture that ALL MATCHES! That's a big part of letting flats, isn't it? The never ending parade of mismatched Ikea furniture paired with paper lantern light fixtures. Thankfully, you'll not find that tacky combo in our new home!

Next is the bathroom, and it does what it's supposed to do! I really love the bricks separating the shower from the sink area! I know bloggers are SO OVER marble thanks to the *marble tray in every post* business, but I still love our marble shower curtain. We're not sure what's up with this weird, asymmetrical shelf in the corner, but it helps with storage so it's alright with me!

Our kitchen and living room are open plan, and for such a wee space it feels super roomy! (Look closely and you'll see the portrait that a good friend created for us!)

Obviously we've got Captain America protecting our living space next to a majestic flag. Our newest addition to the room is that cute wee ottoman! It's fab for extra seating, and it's super soft since we threw a wee (faux) fur rug over it!

My favourite space in the flat is also the hardest to photograph because it has no windows and no natural light. You'll remember my wee desk from this post, but I wanted to show off my new rug and the fairy lights! It's such an odd wee space! Above the desk & cupboard there is a wee platform, just big enough for a single bed. It would be a cool spare bedroom, if there was a ladder, or even space to PUT a ladder! Oh, and also it doesn't have a door so...at least it's got character!

So what do you think of our wee home? Have any decorating advice for me? Let me know in the comments below!

xx
