Beauty Chat: Girl Meets Brush**

8 Dec 2015

UK based plus size fashion blogger AmandaApparel chats about Scottish brand Girl Meets Brush. This beauty chat post features vegan, cruelty free makeup brushes!

Last week I donned a bare face and headed to the Scottish Design Exchange at Ocean Terminal for a one to one tutorial with Girl Meets Brush founder, Lynne Mills. She has a very impressive portfolio (Vogue, Marie Claire, Cosmo, Eyelure, I could go on!) and founded EyeCandy Pro Team in 2005.

Lynne founded Girl Meets Brush in 2015. She wanted to provide a vegan, cruelty free, all-inclusive brush set. There are so many brushes and brush sets on the high street that either have unnecessary pieces, or lack some crucial pieces. She developed a 12 piece set (and carrying case!) that suits any and all makeup needs for professionals and amateurs alike.

I've had one to one tutorials before with other brands in the past. Those were mostly just a makeover where I provide input, and the MUA does all the work. My session with Lynne was SO interactive! We went through the brushes individually as we applied the makeup. Lynne would start the application, and walk me through techniques and tips, then she would hand the brush over to me! I really got to get to know the brushes in a much more hands on way than anticipated.

I felt totally comfortable with Lynne. I was impressed by her professional, and warm demeanor. Her kit housed several blogger fave brands, like Mac, Nars, and Sleek Makeup. I really appreciated how she doesn't exclusively use luxury brands. Brands like Sleek are really great for the money, and I was grateful that she used drugstore brands. It made the brand feel even more accessible.

Let me tell you, these brushes are SUPER soft and do their respective jobs superbly. The brushes were designed to be bought as a full set, featuring all of the brushes below and a coordinating brush holder. The set can be purchased with either an illustrated brush guide, or with a one to one tutorial like the one I experienced. For a limited time, you can purchase the brushes a la carte! I've already ordered the highlighter and eyeliner brushes, but I have my eye on a couple more!

I'm excited to share a discount code with my fabulous readers! Use code "GMBLAUNCH2015" for 15% off your first purchase. This code applies to full sets only. Now get out there and SHOP!
