Trend Watch: Baby Blues

2 Mar 2016

UK based plus size fashion blogger AmandaApparel chats about beautiful baby blues and shares her top picks from Simply Be, New Look Inspire, and more in this trend watch post.

As of today, Spring has OFFICIALLY sprung! You know what that means! Time for ever so slightly fewer and thinner layers! I've noticed a LOT of powder & baby blues around recently. I'm a bit partial to this colour, because it looks FAB with my eye colour and complexion, but I think blue looks great on everybody! Here are a few of my favourite pieces from current collections.

1. New Look Inspire Ring Back Layered Cami

This cami looks super easy breezy. I really like the ring detail on the back. I would pair this with black leggings, leopard flats, and a camel jacket. Oh, and a statement necklace! Comfy and casual and perfect for uni!

2. Simply Be Pussy Bow Blouse

Mmmm, I LOVE a pussy bow blouse! This top would look fab tucked into a pencil skirt for the office with a sleek pair of pumps. I'd style it with a messy bun and my big tassel earrings.

3. New Look Shopper Bag

I love a good shopper bag, especially when it has handles and a shoulder strap. All too often I stick with the usual neutrals: black, tan, and grey. I'd love to add this shopper to my collection, and decorate it with a pom pom or tassel keychain.

4. H&M+ Girlfriend Low-Rise Jeans

I usually shy away from lighter wash jeans, but this H&M+ pair looks really nice! Instead of styling it with heels, I'd pair it with my faux snakeskin lace up flats from Primark, and add a scarf as well.

5. River Island Patchwork Heeled Ankle Boots

These boots are really a statement piece, huh? They would be the centerpiece of any outfit, so I'd start with them and work my way up. I'd probably want to go with a bare leg, and a simple, neutral dress. A camel or grey shade would pair really nicely!
