UK plus size fashion blogger AmandaApparel shares her favourite mini and maxi dresses for summer holidays in this trend watch post in collaboration with JD Williams.
Summer is here, and you know what that means...summer holidays! I'm not travelling anywhere, but that doesn't mean I can't daydream about a beach holiday. Maybe I'll even have a wee "staycation," who knows?
For me, holiday fashion is all about super short or super long dresses. They both have such an effortless vibe that is essential while on holiday, don't you think?
1. Khaki Jersey Maxi T-shirt Dress
You just can't go wrong with a simple maxi dress. This beauty is available in khaki, black, grey, black stripe, and navy stripe. For daytime, I would style this with gold sandals and a long, simple necklace. Daytime makeup would mostly include tinted moisturiser (with SPF), lip balm, and mascara. To transition from day to night, I would add a statement necklace, heels, and smoky eyeshadow.
2. Palm Print Trapeze Maxi Dress
This botanic print dress would make a beautiful swim cover up for a day at the beach. Because of the lovely lace-up back detailing, I would style my hair in a top knot or a side braid. I would also skip necklaces all together and opt for dangly earrings and a giant pair of sunnies. Flip flops would be ideal for the beach, but a pair of flats would be handy for shopping or dinner later in the day! (Can you tell I'm really committing to this holiday daydream? I'm getting cabin fever just writing this post!)
3. Pineapple Sleeveless Swing Dress
Okay, real talk. How fun is this dress?! Pineapple clothing and accessories always remind me of my BFF Zoe, so this dress instantly brought a smile to my face. This would look SO cute with french braid pigtails, a layered necklace, and lace up flats. I'd definitely be carrying a HUGE tote bag with this look as well. And chub rub shorts, obviously!
4. Damson Ribbed Jersey Swing Dress
Much like the first dress, this swing dress is super versatile and available in many colours. In addition to the damson shade pictured, the dress is also available in olive, grey, and black. The dress could also easily be dressed up or down with accessories. I would style this look with peach wedge heels, statement earrings, and a patterned scarf.
