UK based plus size fashion blogger AmandaApparel discusses her absence from the blog, and shares some insight about what's been going on in her world in this personal post.
Hello, hello, hello! Long time, no chat! Did ya miss me? I'm just going to assume that's a yes! So, it's been quite a while, eh? Christmas, Hogmanay, a trip to America, and now back to uni. Have you been keeping up with my shenanigans on Instagram? I sure hope so! Here is the Cliff's Notes version of what's been going on in my life since I last blogged.
1. Star Wars
Yes, my mega-nerd of a husband took me to the midnight premiere. I really enjoyed it, you guys. SO SO GOOD. And much better representation than the OG Star Wars films. If you haven't seen The Force Awakens yet, you gotta! You just gotta!
2. My Gran passed away
This is the first major death in my family, and it hit me harder and differently than I expected it to. It didn't help that it happend just before Christmas, and only a week or two before Scott and I were due to visit my hometown. It's never easy, but mental health issues make grieving extremely difficult and more complicated than anticipated. I also had to repress feelings of guilt for not being there to help the family and mourn with them. It it what it is. We're doing our best to move on.
Scott treated me to a very girl power Christmas. I'm VERY excited to read Alias (the comic inspiration for Jessica Jones) and I've already re-watched Agent Carter 1.5 times. I treated him to a very Star Wars Christmas, and he loved it.
We adopted my bff Zoe who was visiting from Australia for the holidays. It was a blast cooking for the three of us. Later in the day Scott's family joined us for presents and dessert.
It was a perfect wee first Christmas as a married couple. I don't think I would change a thing.
We did absolutely nothing to celebrate, and were fast asleep by 10pm! #OldPeople
5. Visiting Kansas City
This was Scott's first time on a plane, EVER! Thankfully, he did really great! I was pretty worried he would freak out, but for the most part it was smooth sailing!
Once we arrived, we did a lot of catching up with friends & family, a lot of eating, and a lot of shopping! Honestly, I must have gone to Sephora at least 5 times in the 10 days we were there.
I'm considering doing a wee holiday recap, detailing more of the places we went, things we did, and foods we consumed. Would you guys be into that? Let me know in the comments below!
I've been so encouraged during this break from blogging. It was really heartwarming visiting so many people who care about me and about Scott so deeply. Plus I was overwhelmed with an abundance of blog collab related emails, so I've got a LOT to share with you in the near future!
What I'm trying to say, is thank you. Thank you for reading this blog. It's been so fun and so successful in a short amount of time. I'm so grateful for every single one of you. I hope I continue to create content that keeps making you come back.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
